Fender Bender with Justin Vandervolgen (TBD/Golf Channel) at @Loreleytweet

Justin Vandervolgen has a history spanning the last 13 years in the dance/disco community. Being one of the founding members and producer of the bands !!! and Outhud as well as remixing for labels such as Warp, EMI and Output. In 2003 Justin produced the !!! record “Me and Guliani down by the schoolyard” which became a UK dance chart hit and helped to bring the emerging early 2000’s sound of NY dance music to the rest of the world. It was in 2001 when Justin moved to NY that he started dj’ing more and playing some of the best parties and after hours spots in the city. Early 2008 saw Justin leaving !!!, (Outhud disbanded in 2005) to focus on producing, remixing and dj’ing. 2009 saw the release of 2 projects one with Lee Douglas called TBD which produced the massive hit What is This?, in 2010 he dropped a solo release Sheebooya/Clapping Song for acclaimed the Golf Channel imprint as well as his own now classic Try to find Me edit series also on Golf Channel Recordings. 2011 will bring the release of more of his own solo productions, various remixes for labels like Internajonal and many more edits for Golf Channel and He and Lee’s own TBD Classics.. 

And of course residents Chupacabras and Speculator will be there too.

. @mrsatnight Starts A Label

The Mister’s starting a record label!

To celebrate, we’re doing the same thing we do most other Saturday nights – throwing a party. The thing that makes this different than other Mister Saturdays, though, is that we’ll have copies of the record – Anthony Naples’ Mad Disrespect EP – for sale more than two weeks before anyone else can get them. And, just for that night, we’ll be selling them for $5 a pop, which is really cheap. (So just one per person, please.)

Also, young Mister Naples will be playing records for the first couple hours of the party, and then Justin and Eamon will play his record on repeat for the next six hours. Okay, not really.

Everything else is the same as it ever was. House of Yes. Free beer for the first hour. Party jams. Weird party jams. I didn’t ever think of this as a party jam-s. And a really nice soundsystem and a bunch of good people.

As always, we are looking forward to getting down with you.

Were transforming the warehouse with an ‘underwater’ visuals collaboration with lighting expert Jared Stafford, who uses drum machines to create evolving rhythmic evironments, and also renting extra tweeters for a sound upgrade! This will be so sick.

speculator and chupacabras have been doing this a long time. they both have alot of records and spent alot of time listening to them and messing about with music stuff. 

spec and chupa grew up in texas and wasted a few years skateboarding in sf.. then 

CHUPACABRAS spent the late 90s and early 2000s in barcelona eventually becoming a resident at NITSA. he basically helped organize and djed along side everyone you can think of and worked in the best record store in bcn, WAH WAH along sideDJ ZERO (who I-F calls the teacher) who was the resident dj for SONAR.. all that before moving to nyc and organizing tours for tiger and woods before they were tiger and woods and djing with JDH before fixed.. djing at DEMF while it was still free. just basically holding it down.. 

SPECULATOR has also been around.. he helped organize the first tours and gigs for BUNKER records.. not the party.. but the real BUNKER from holland.. he also made a record called SMACKULATOR that was on BUNKER.. then he did 3 or 4 releases for lLEGOWELTs label called STRANGELIFE.. made some recs for CREME Organization and a bunch of others.. remixes for WOLFRAM and MUSICCARGO and DREAMDISCO.. had tracks licensed by JAMES HOLDEN for k7 toured all over.. made one of the early releases for the now overly hyped LIES records.. and had a re-release of his galaxy toobin record on even more overly hyped NOT NOT FUN.. and some other stuff.. all this while running WT records which is releasing breaking bad star krysten ritters record called EX VIVIAN.. AND now remixing EROL ALKIN and HEATSICK and making even more records.. 

they both work at the best record digging spot in the world called THE THING. they got good records.

party is free entrance and nice to hang out at.. they got everything you want.. dancefloor, soundsystem.. good drinks.. even food.. even outside with tables.. amples toilets.. everything.. and its centrally located.. off the G or L
